Excited...

I admit...I'm totally excited to see it. Although I'll probably wait on rushing there. I'm no midnight shower kinda gal. And I don't want to fight the crowds. But I'm still excited!! Yeah!

Oh, and is it possible to be on Team Edward in the books...but on Team Jacob for the movies? I don't like the Robert P. casting for Edward. And Taylor L. isn't nearly big enough to be Jacob in New Moon...but he is a cutie. So I guess I'm batting for both teams. :)

To Whom It May Concern (You know who you are)

Dear Stinky Drivers of California,

I am so fed up with you. Seriously. I risk my life and the life of my unborn baby on a daily basis being around you. Case in point: Today, on my drive home from work, as usual…traffic slowed down from 70 MPH to 20-30 MPH close to the “Orange Crush” area on the 5 North bound. For those that have not noticed this drastic slowdown yet…just take my for my word. It ALWAYS happens at rush hour. So pay attention!! I already had to deal with a stinky driver rear ending me in July of this year, which totaled my car when I was eight weeks pregnant! Yeah for my first ambulance ride. The crappy driver lady’s justification: “I’m so sorry, my foot slipped off the break.” Seriously?

Well tonight on my way home, as usual…traffic began to slow. I was in the fast lane and started my merge to the right to eventually exit the freeway (and also because the slow lane is the fasted lane in the orange crush area.) I had only changed one lane when the car that was two cars behind me in the fast lane forgot to apply his breaks. (I’m assuming it’s a he. Could have been a she.) Since he missed his break, he swerved to the right, directly behind me, since I had just changed lanes. He continued into the next lane as well, but over corrected just as he entered that lane. He over corrected to the left and crossed back two and a half lanes. Then over correct to the right again, crossing three lanes, then over corrected again crossing three lanes, then over corrected AGAIN. I think after four or five swerves, he straightened himself out. I saw the drivers side of his car perpendicular to me, the passenger side perpendicular as well and the front of his car. Seriously?! I don’t need to die. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. Mind you he did this going about 60-70 miles an hour. And he didn’t hit anyone in such heavy traffic. I couldn’t believe it! Maybe because everyone else was PAYING ATTENTION due to the sudden slow in this area.

Needless to say, I kept driving at my speed to get as far away from him as possible. He slowed way down…I’m sure he was in shock. I eventually lost him.

Thoughts:

  • If you aren’t going to pay attention, then don’t drive.
  • If you are too old, then don’t drive.
    • For example, why does the DMV provide study booklets to the elderly that have bigger print so they can study for their driver’s test? Seriously? If you can’t read the regular book with glasses on, then maybe you shouldn’t be driving.
    • If you aren’t sure if you are too old. Ask your kids…then stinking listen to them and don’t fight it.
  • If you are drunk, then don’t drive.

  • If your car is not functioning correctly, then don’t drive…get it fixed!
    • For example, a pet peeve of mine is when people have burned out tail lights. I HATE that. You realize if I rear end you and your tail light is out, it is actually your stinking fault. I have to see lights to know I should stop.
  • If you can’t eat and drive at the same time, then don’t!
    • Some people can…some people can’t. How do you know which one you are? Well, if others are passing you while you are eating and looking at you with a ticked off face, then you probably can’t drive while eating. So you should stop.
    • Same thing with talking on the phone. (Yes, I know it is against the law, but I see it daily in California)
  • If you are “scared” of freeways, then stay OFF them please. You just make it worse being there. Take surface streets.

Oh, and WHY is it in California…as soon as you get on the freeway, you immediately merge as quickly and as closely to the fast lane as possible. The fast lane should NOT be the slow lane. I’m just saying. I find myself in the slow lane most of the time because it is the fastest lane in California.

Also, you know that ramp that you take to get on the freeway. Well that ramp is used to GAIN speed to merge into the freeway traffic. They shouldn’t have to hit their breaks to let you in. Come on!!

Oh and you know when there are solid yellow lines…you aren’t suppose to cross them. You know like going in and out of the carpool lane. You might wonder about a solid white line…you can only cross those with “great care.” So take “great care” in crossing them…ok? Solid white lines are sometimes present when merging onto the freeway. When there are dots, cross. After a while, the dots become a sold white line. By that point, you should have already merged. Don’t force yourself in at the last minute. We have no duty to let you in to traffic.

Alrighty…putting this on paper helps me to calm down. I think I am being so much more protective because I have a human inside me and I don’t need anybody else’s stupidity hurting me and my child. I’m done now and may have to delete this post when I start worrying about people thinking I’m a ranting, mean lawyer (even though I am and I do that often, it is part of my job description. Haha. But blogs are only for showing off how amazing your life is and not letting people in on the fact that we are all human. Right?)

Kicking Kid and Cheese!

First off...Lars felt our baby girl kick last night!! I'm excited he felt her, just because it makes me feel like he is more involved in all this. He was happy to feel her. She's been pretty active, but at least the kicks don't wake me up at night. I still sleep ok, unless I have crazy prego dreams.
(That is not my belly. Or her foot. But it makes me wonder if
you can really see it with that definition eventually?
Or is that photo-shopped?)

Lars and I learned something new this weekend. For years, Lars (and other Cali people) have looked at me funny when I say I want a "Cheese Crisp." That is what I grew up calling these:However, only over the weekend did we find out that Arizona is known for its "Cheese Crisp" and you CAN'T get them in California. Kinda stinky, when you are prego and craving one!!

So here is the difference. In Arizona Mexican restaurants, they have these on the menus. They take a flour tortilla and deep fry it to be crispy, bubbly and oily! Yum. Then they put cheese on top and put it in the oven to melt and bake to the tortilla. The result is heavenly, well at least it sounds that way for me right now.

So I'm a little disappointed that I can't satisfy my craving. Anyone want to run to AZ and grab me one? Or do you know of a restaurant in Orange County that makes Cheese Crisps...do let me know. I can't seem to move onto another craving until I satisfy one.

And to all you people who wonder what I'm talking about when I say cheese crisp...see I'm not crazy, it's just an AZ thing...you wouldn't understand. ;)

Scent Tracking Dog Anyone?

Well hello everyone. So guess who didn't dress up for Halloween. Me. So...no costume pictures in this post. I know it's the thing to do right now...but we ran out of time and energy (ok, Lars' time and my energy) to do it. The good news is that we did get trick or treaters this year in our new place. Shows you that it is an upgrade from the last place (I don't remember getting any the last two years). It was fun to pass out some candy.

In other news, I missed taking prego pics for weeks 19, 20, 21 and 22. Wow, I'm on a roll. The thing is the new week falls on a Thursday. So every Thursday I'm suppose to take a pictures. I'm always rushing out to work and sometimes Lars is already gone to work...so the picture doesn't happen. Because of this...I'm thinking I take Sunday pictures, since life slows down a little on Sundays for us. That means I took one today! So here is my 22 and a half week picture.
The last few weeks, our little girl has become a little active in there. I do jump here and there when she gives me a good kick. Kinda a weird feeling and knowing it will get stronger the next four months is crazy to think about.

We bought the crib a few days back. It is cherry wood and we are happy with it and happy with the price. The crib set should be in the mail to us. Guess who bought something totally different than what I had you all vote on. hahaha, a woman's prerogative is to change her mind right? So what is a prego woman's prerogative? Here's a picture of what we got. It is purchased and in the mail, so there is no talking me out of it. :) Oh and did I mention...$49 bucks for all that, except the wall hanging things and clothes hamper. Still haven't bought any prego jeans, I'm going to use my old ones as long as possible and then go naked. It'll be a fun time for all, I'm sure. And I just realized how random my thoughts are in this post. So to add to it...my back hurts. Yeah for pregnancy back pain.

We have been to our new ward for two weeks. Verdict is: weird. I won't expound because I'll end up being friends with some bloggers in the ward eventually. But wow, testimony meet today was interesting. Glad the gospel is true.

Oh and by the way, if anyone needs a scent tracking dog, forget the dog...I'm your woman. My superwoman senses are very keen.

Hmmm...can't think of any other random thoughts. So I shall close. Ta, ta for now.

Opinionated Halloween

If you voted for Obama....read no further, you might not like my opinion :) But, it is just my opinion. Love to all.
Makes total sense to me...doesn't it to you?!

Hehehe, sorry I couldn't resist. Maybe once I have our little girl, I'll be less political and more into showing her off. But until then, grin and bear it.

Beads?!

Well hello again....question for you. Does anyone know of a blog that goes through a step by step instruction on how to make those ADORABLE bracelets for little girls? Becky, Jen? I know you guys make them...is there a blog anyone follows? Or even a blog that sales them so I can look. :) Thank you for your cooperation.

Oh, and if you would like to donate baby stuff to the "Our Cute Baby" Fund (the cute part is still pending...we are just hoping. haha), feel free to let me know. Anyone sick of their swing? Or has your darling grown out of her pink stuff...do tell. :)

Thanks!! Peace out.

A Busy and Amazing Weekend THS Style!

We are digging out! So the last two weeks have been overwhelming to say the least! But good!! I felt like I could only handle one day at a time. The weekend of the tenth, we moved. Our new place is 10-15 miles from the old and cuts my commute drastically! Yeah!

Then, four days later, we packed up and headed to Thatcher, AZ. We attended my High School 10 year reunion. Oh, what a fun weekend. It's funny though because everyone agrees we stayed up and partied so much that us old people were dead by the end of the weekend. We arrived Thursday night and stayed at by BFF's beautiful home. It was so fun to see them and catch up all weekend. Becky just had her third little girl, Mallory. She was 6 weeks old. Being around her made me so excited for our little girl to arrive. Becky and Nate's other two daughters, Elly and Ragan played with Lars all weekend. Lars is my six year old. He is a human jungle gym and will make the best daddy ever.
(Lars tossing Ragan, look at her smile!)

(Elly couldn't get enough of the tossing. Lars was able to get an arm work out. He had so much fun with them.)

(Eventually, Lars was tired! He took a nap with Mallory. Look at that cute little girl. And husband.)

Friday we attended the High School Homecoming Pep Rally. It was ok, I think ours was better! But maybe that was because we were involved and more invested. After the rally was the small town, homecoming parade. You blink, you miss it. Our class had a float and dressed up our kids as super heroes and put them in a loader thingy. After the parade, we had lunch/dinner with friends at La Casita. So fun to catch up and so fun to meet many of the friends' spouses. So glad everyone married someone cool so we can all chill!

Friday night was the game. We played Pima. I don't know if Pima is currently Thatcher's rival, but they have always been mine since I grew up there and moved to Thatcher right before 9th grade. I didn't care for Pima and was glad to move. And boy was I grateful! Because Thatcher's the bomb. hahaha. Well the Thatcher football team won! (Of course) After the game we went to a "barn" to visit and hang out more. Funny it was a barn, because it was way upscale. Becky and I were abandoned by our husbands around 11:30 p.m. and we finally got home around midnight. Good times!
(High School buddies! Anywhere we went...we were in tow with each other. Love you girls!)

Saturday we had a picnic in the park with all the kids. Again, tons of catching up. That afternoon, Becky threw me a baby shower! Totally unexpected and so much fun! Thank you Becky (and Jan!) you seriously made my weekend. And thanks to everyone that came!! I was so glad to celebrate with you and gather as much inside knowledge on this parenting business as I could. I received some great gifts and can't wait for our baby girl to come. :)
(Thanks for the shower Bec! You are amazing! Throw a shower, just 6 weeks after giving birth. How do you do it?)

Saturday night we had a catered dinner, slide show and memories. I haven't laughed that hard in the longest time. I have never seen Kim so red in my life. Honestly, we have so many fun people in our class. And everyone is friendly and cool to each other. So glad I grew up with such great people.
(Kim, Nate, Amy and me. Nate is the best story teller. Thanks for being our President, that didn't plan the reunion. haha)

(The coolest guys around: Ryan, Jeff, Jesse, Cody, me and Bec, Brett and Nate.)

(Some of the ladies. Jen, Kim, me, Bec, Amanda, Aubrey and Leah!)

(Some classmates had taken off before this photo, but not a bad turn out for a class less than 100 deep.)

Sunday morning, Lars and I were sad to leave Becky and Nate's to head back to Phoenix. They were the best hosts to us. Fed us, bathed us, played with us, hahaha :) Hopefully they can come to Cali soon so we can do the same...hint, hint.

We were able to make it back to Phoenix on Sunday and stayed with my mother that night. We BBQed with my sister, Lindsie and her husband, Josh. Good food! As always, we had a great time talking about gross things. (aka, bodily functions.) Then Monday morning we drove back. What a great weekend and we were grateful to be home to sleep in our own bed. Thanks for all the memories THS friends!

To all my Arizona Friends!

Lars and I will be in Thatcher, AZ this weekend for my high school reunion. (I'm excited to see everyone!) My wonderful friend Becky asked if she could throw a baby shower for me. And of course I thought that would be fun! My first shower, yeah!! So if you live in, or can make it to Thatcher, AZ on Saturday...and you are reading this, you are invited. (And I don't even require a gift! Seriously just come.) Below is the super cute invite that Becky and her sister-in-law made. Talented huh?
And look...I did two posts in one day. Amazazing.

We are alive...moved and have internet!

Hey everyone!! We are alive and in a new home. Not new, new...but new place for us. We like it SOOOOO much better. Why, you ask?

1. We have a DISHWASHER now.
2. We have a WASHER and DRYER now.
3. We doubled our square footage.
4. My commute to work was cut in half!
5. We don't live in a terrible ghetto, just somewhat ghetto. lol
6. We are down stairs!! (No moving stuff up stairs and no waddling up stairs for my future.)

Ya, so we are pretty excited. But this is how our place looks :)
This isn't our actual home, just what our place looks like.

And can I say my husband is the world's best mover. Being prego during this move, I helped prepare...but tried not to lift much. He and our awesome elder's quorum from church did it all. Boy am I grateful for those guys.

Also, I wanted to post a link to an article that to me, is very alarming. We are in the last days...aren't there prophecies that we will have to fight to save the constitution when it hangs by a thread. Well, looks like that time is/will arrive soon!! Read it...it is quick and comes from an Apostle of God.

Pictures and Thoughts

We are currently in boxes!! We are moving next weekend...any volunteers are welcome to come help! We all know I'm not much help. :)

Alright, more belly pictures. Top is week 17, bottom is week 18. Let's not look at the facial expression on bottom. This baby is making me crazy.

Other thoughts:
So this week, I finally decided to go look at maternity clothes. I'm not the typical girl that likes to have an all day shopping day. I go in with what I want, I get what I want, and I get out. And now that I'm preggo, I have less energy. So on Saturday, I went to Mimi Maternity that carries jeans from A Pea in a Pod that said have an inseam of 36 inches (I researched it online). So when I get to the store. The girls look at me with a dumbstruck look when I told them the site said they have 36 inch inseams. Ya, well...they didn't. So I tried on like 20 pairs that were labeled "long." Well their "long" is 1 to 2 inches too short for this long lady. Ugh!

The good news is I found two pairs of maternity dress pants for work. Funny I found those, but no jeans. I've been wearing the "Bella Band" with my current jeans. But wonder what happens when I grow too big for them. Some said just to use that my entire pregnancy...but as I get bigger, I would have to leave them unbuttoned and unzipped. That requires a LONG shirt to cover. So a long torso, with a massive belly...I might have to use a short dress for a long shirt. lol. I always wanted to be a cute pregnant lady. Now I'm thinking I'll be lucky to be clothed at all. haha. Anywho. It'll be fine, I've just started my search. Another option is I work with an attorney that went to fashion school and designs clothes in her spare time. Maybe I could give her some of my current jeans and have her modify them to maternity. Then just buy new jeans after. Guess we will see. Pretty funny that I'm SOOO tall that there are not many retailers that fill my niche. I wonder what Gabrielle Reece and Kerry Walsh did.

Other, other thoughts:
You ever try to befriend someone and it seems like that person just doesn't want to be friends with you. You try to be friendly and you feel shut down? I just find that frustrating. Guess I need to care less...

Lastly, I love conference weekend and the spiritual boost I get from it. I hope I can do better and be better. Ok, I'm done for now.

We are having....

It is official!! We are having a GIRL!!

(Unless there was something there hiding.)

Bring on the PINK!

The sono lady took a picture of her leg for us, and comment..."wow, she has very long legs." Too which I said, "doesn't surprise me." :) Some highschool friends nicknamed me "Legs." She must be "Legs Jr." Looks like she is getting the long genes!

Angel Moroni is Added!

I was excited to find out that Angel Moroni was added to the Gila Valley Temple last week! For those that don't know, it's being built where I am from!! Just outside Thatcher, AZ. I look forward to when we can go through the inside!!
Lars and I will be in Thatcher in just under 3 weeks for my 10 year reunion. I look forward to seeing it in person!

First Purchase!

First baby purchase!! So we found an amazing deal on the Chicco Travel System - Sahara Stroller and Car Seat. I did research into strollers for tall parents. We have special needs. :) The handles need to be higher and when we walk, our stride can kick the back of regular strollers. So I found out that this travel system works well for us giants. Yeah! We found one that was half as much as any others. Sooo, we went for it!
We find out on Wed. what we are having. I'm sure at that point, I'll be buying more. :) Yeah!!

Yes, I'm doing it again.

**Stepping on her soap box**

Wake up America!! Socialism is creeping into our daily lives. It will turn into Communism (and may have already.) Obama is not what many believe him to be. This warning was giving in 1966 by Ezra Taft Benson. I see it coming true now. Wow, what great men lead the church I belong to...why does it take so much effort for some of us to comply and believe. Look at their foresight. Thought I would share this.

Date Night and a Laugh

My husband asked me on a date last night. We do things all the time, but he wanted to be formal and ask me out. He laughed it was the first time he had asked out a pregnant lady. :) Well he must be a little out of practice on asking chicks out, because he didn't tell me when he would be picking me up or when I should be ready. haha. So he got home from work and I was still in my PJs. He wanted to take me on a picnic. So I jumped in the shower and we went. By the time we got our KFC and got the the park it was a little dark. But the park had some lights and we could see. It was nice just to be out, sitting on a bench by the lake. We ate and then went to go look for skirts for my belly. I'm growing out of my church clothes. Here is a self portrait of our night (No I am not drunk. And Lars has Cantaloupe in his cheeks, chipmunk!)
Also, I had to share this photo. I'm going to have to find out what this label is on, so I can invest. Hilarious!! The bottom translates what the top says in French.

Am I really posting pics?

I don't know how long I'll take prego pics or how often I will share them with you...but I decided to show you 15 weeks and 16 weeks. I guess there really is something in there. Crazy?!

This is 15 weeks as I'm going out the door to work.

This is 16 weeks. At the end of the day in my PJs...no making fun of my outfit.
Only a week and a half till we know the sex! Yippy!

Remembering

I'm taking a moment to remember those lost and those that lived on Sept. 11th. I hope we never forget the lessons learned that day.
